Does something you've done this week deserve a free lunch from BTB?
Most of you know that due to a conflict with the Big Ten Conference we were forced to change our name (you can get the story here). In response, we created a contest to let our customers help us choose a new name, and we were blown away with the response. We received over a thousand entries. Some great, some not so much and we appreciate everyone of them. Although we have kept a low profile in the months following the naming contest--we are finally ready to introduce the new name, signs, website, and logos.
I am pleased to introduce to you, BTB Burrito. BTB Burrito was far and away the most suggested name during the contest. It received 64% of the vote and with good reason. It has a great ring, and everyone calls us BTB already. It may not seem like much of a change, but it was hard to say goodbye to Big Ten Burrito. We look forward to maintaining the same positive connection, with the same great food, and the best customers in the world. So here's to BTB Burrito! The same but slightly different.
The night was getting started and all were having a great time. Many games of Wii went by and the crowd decided it was about time to go out on the town. But where to, seeing as how Ann Arbor offers up so many choices? “Cantiiinaaa,” shouted a certainly inebriated UofM undergrad. So, the night began and the crowd headed to the recently opened BTB Cantina. The walk was short seeing as the Cantina is located in the heart of campus, right above Good Time Charley’s. Most didn’t know what to expect at the Cantina, but Mr. Inebriated guaranteed a good time. When the group entered they were greeted by a festive crowd who was enjoying shooters, margaritas, brews, burritos, and quesadillas. The wide array of tequila ranged from your simple Jose up to more elegant tastes such as Don Julio. And as for the food, we all know that when it comes to Mexican, BTB is el rey de Ann Arbor. Within the Cantina there was spacious seating, arcade games, and even a bar version of good old shuffleboard. So, the crowd mingled, and all were enjoying themselves. At about 3:30 everyone decided they were hungry so they ordered up a batch of burritos and quesadillas. With everyone’s late night craving for munchies fulfilled, they headed back home. Everyone had a great time and was happy to find a new chill spot in Ann Arbor. Long live the Cantina!

It’s nearly Cinco de Mayo and it’s also long overdue for an update on what’s going on at BTB. We’ve been getting a lot of questions about the name change, our tortas, the new Ann Arbor location and all kinds of stuff so it’s time to at least inform the saavy internet users like you.
As for the name change, thanks to everyone for your suggestions and for your votes. We were really overwhelmed by the support we got on campus and we really appreciate it! At this point, BTB Burrito and Big Time Burrito did the best in the voting and we’re still trying to figure out what the final decision will be. Our name will officially change by September.
TORTAS! For about a month now we’ve been enjoying this new addition to the menu at the Ann Arbor location and if you haven’t tried one yet, give it a shot. We’ve been calling it a “special” but for those of you who have asked, we are planning on making tortas a permanent part of the menu.
And finally, maybe the biggest news of all…as of May 5th there is a NEW BIG TEN BURRITO in Ann Arbor. It’s at 1906 Packard(995-9940), south of Stadium near Dairy Queen and Frasers Pub. We’ll be open 10AM-10PM 7 days a week and we hope to see ya there. Yet another way for you to get your BTB!
OK. Sorry for the marathon post but I think you’re now all caught up on the world of Big Ten Burrito. Or BTB. Or Big Time Bur….eh, screw it. We’re working on it. And thanks again for your help!
